Exfoliating Does A Body Good

If you've ever see my bathroom (and at some point, you will), you will learn that I am an absolute product junkie. I mean it. Tons of shampoo and lotions and conditioners-- seriously, it needs it's own shelf. The stuff I don't like, I usually turn into something else. I'm famous for using conditioner to shave my legs. Hey, it's cheaper and lasts longer than a can of shaving cream! Lately though, I've been stuck on body scrubs. Dry skin is never cute, especially in the summer with all the tiny shorts, skirts and swimsuits everywhere. My obsession with scrubs is actually great, especially for shaving.

Exfoliating removes rough, dry, dead skin cells from the surface of your body, making all the wonderful creams and lotions we have more effective. It also gives you a smoother shave if  use it before lathering up. I bought a scrub a little while ago from Walmart. It was the Tree Hut Tropical Mango Body Scrub
and it
works really well. I only paid about $6 for them, so it wasn't too bad for my wallet. It's a sugar scrub, so  the granules are smaller and gentler than salt scrubs. It feels really good and it smells like fresh fruit. After the sugar dissolves, it leaves my legs a little slick, so sometimes I shave with it rather than using conditioner. Yes! I love a good double duty product. I do wish it came with a little scoop to get the product out, though. Every time I open the jar in the shower, I almost always get water in it. That's no bueno because it dissolves the sugar. If you buy some, I suggest you find yourself a small scoop. Ulta currently has them on sale BOGO 50% off, so it could be worth checking out.

Out of curiosity, I made a teeny tiny batch of brown sugar scrub for my lips. I'm positive that it would work well on the body too, I just wanted something that was chemical-free and tasted good next on my lips I didn't follow any particular recipe, It was probably about 1 Tbsp of brown sugar and a couple of drops of grape seed oil (enough to make a paste). It was very spur of the moment because my lips were dry from trying out new lipsticks. Chapped lips and lipstick are definitely not a winning combo. I just applied the scrub, worked it around with my fingers and removed with a warm wash cloth. Worked like a charm. However, if you're looking for something a little fancier there are some really yummy sounding ones on Pinterest

Well Beauties, that's all I have for you today. Do you use body scrubs? Tell me about your favorites below!
