I received this product for free so that I could give you my honest opinion on it.

Foundation can be a tricky thing. One minute, everything is looking great and your the base of your daily look is coming together, then you realize you need a bit more coverage. Suddenly, your face is finished but you feel like the makeup is just sitting on your face like a mold waiting to be cracked and peeled off.  It's totally sitting in your fine lines or pores and it is NOT cute. You can see every imperfection.

I know what you mean.

I mean, where is the skin in all this?  You just want your foundation to blend effortlessly into the skin and make you look nice. Not look like a reality TV housewife. So, how do you avoid the dreaded cake face?

You won't even believe how insanely easy it is.

Yeah, that's it.

A really good moisturizer Here's why:

Well-moisturized skin plumps up and creates a slight barrier against fine lines and wrinkles. It also makes the skin slippery, which will help your foundation glide on smoothly. A few weeks ago, I got a free jar of the Loreal Triple Power Deep-Acting Moisturizer from Influenster to try out and let me tell you, I was super skeptical of all the claims it made. I mean, I don't have problems with wrinkles or fine lines yet, but it promised to make skin look smoother in one week and in four weeks, my skin should look younger, firmer and more lifted.

When I first opened it, I was scared because it was so thick. I was thinking that it was going to be heavy and greasy feeling which in the sweltering Georgia heat, I was going to be able to fry an egg on my forehead. Turns out, my skin was severely dehydrated because it drank this stuff right up.
I started on June 15 and the last pic, I took on July 10. I applied it twice a day, morning and night after cleansing. You can see how much more radiant my skin looks.I dare you to zoom in and see what a difference it made on the hyperpigmentation from my acne scars on my forehead. I was shocked.

Just for my own experimental purposes, I decided to have fun and try it as a tinted moisturizer.

Y'all, listen... this was everything I didn't know I needed!

I mixed it with my Mary Kay Timewise Luminous foundation, because while I love the coverage, it is extremely thick for my liking. I got amazing coverage with a dime sized amount of moisturizer  and a dollop of foundation and continued with my regular routine. And it gave me this incredible finish.

Oily-skinned girls can try this with a gel moisturizer, like the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel (affiliate link: Buy It Here)

The trick is to work the moisturizer into the skin and make sure that it is fully absorbed. You don't want the skin to feel tacky before applying your foundation because that can add to the cake face look and leave you looking patchy. You definitely want to make sure that the skin is smooth to the touch first.

This could take anywhere from 5-10 minutes, so move on to other things in your routine like working on your eyeshadow or hair or getting dressed. After that proceed with your foundation and set all your creamy products with a slight amount of powder on a wedge sponge after blending.

Technically I moisturized twice, since I custom mixed it for my purposes, but as you can see, there is no cake face going on here.

If you are interested in giving it a try, you can click the link below. Even if you don't buy it through the link I'm providing, I do suggest checking Amazon because it's cheaper there than Target or Ulta, where it retails for $25 (affiliate link: Buy It Here)

I'm so pleased with the results, I'm planning to try the matching cleanser as soon as I run out of my current one. Thanks for this one, Influenster!
